The Gospel of the Son of God, Jesus Christ, is the very best daily News the Church of Jesus Christ can and must proclaim to a dying world.  Daily access to mass media, the internet and other local sources provide us all with an overwhelming exposé of the continued work of evil in cities around the world.  Whether through natural or man-made disasters, people’s lives around the globe are being impacted by various calamities that leave them devoid of any lasting hope.   Death and destruction seem to reign unvanquished on every human life, from the poor to the very powerful.  Continued threat of terrorism, ethnic and biological wars, contagious diseases, corporate violence, racism, sexism, inequitable healthcare, added to cosmological imbalances, and compounded with bad government choices and leadership, seem to guarantee a twenty first century that will be marred by unfortunate human experiences—regardless of technological progress and achievements.    However, Jesus’ earthly mission and accomplished work of redemption provide humanity with a secure alternative—God’s only Hope:  “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life” (John 3:16, NASB)

                The most precious thing that humanity dreads to lose, Jesus offers freely—everlasting life.   Jesus offers the people of this world a secured life in Him in the here and now, and eternal life beyond the realm of this physical world.  Many billionaires and millionaires and some among the poor are in a daily quest to have a lasting and joyful life—but they soon find out in this world it’s just a dream.  And this dream often reveals itself to be an inescapable nightmare at the end of their troubled years—a nightmare that will leave them restless for ages to come.  Then again, our compassionate Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of eternity past, present, and future invites the people of this world to an eternal and delightful fellowship saying:  “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest,” (Matthew 11:28, NASB).   So true and wonderful is God’s eternal plan for everyone, and yet for the whole world through Jesus Christ, that in Christ’s Great Commission to His twelve original Apostles and disciples, He bids them to:  "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and    the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo I am with you always, even to then of the age." (Matthew 28-19-20, NASB) 

                Likewise, the Gospel according to Mark emphasized Christ’s command that the Good News of eternal life is to be proclaimed to “all creation.”  So that the one “who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but” the one “who has disbelieved shall be condemned,” (Mark 16:16, NASB).  Therefore, our mission is to proclaim Christ to the world and to make his presence manifest through redemptive ministries of His Church—so that the Spirit of Christ may add many children of God into the sheepfold locally, nationally, and globally.
